Legal Assistant - North County Office
Ms. Perez joined Hurwitz Holt in August 2019. She assists clients with setting up appointments, translation of documents, background checks, gathering of documents for Bond Hearings, and applying for employment authorizations. Ms. Perez primarily focuses has been assisting with Cancellation of Removal applications, Asylum applications, TPS applications, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) applications. Ms. Perez also assists in Advance Parole, Parole in Place, Deferred Action and currently assists attorneys with U-Visa application procedures.
Her passion for immigration began from a young age, as a first-generation daughter of immigrant parents. She has been active in the community since high school; assisting town hall meetings, marches, protests with issues that affect our communities such as immigration, police brutality, criminal justice reforms, and climate change. During her time as a legal assistant, she has taken the interest in getting her Paralegal certification when the time comes. In her free time, she enjoys attending cultural events and spending time with my family and friends.
Education:
AA in Multicultural Studies with an emphasis in Chicano Studies, AA in Social Sciences and AA in Legal Studies, Palomar Community College (in progress)
