Ms. Loayza was born in Peru and moved to the United States with her family when she was five years old. She lived the majority of her life undocumented and chose to pursue a legal career to help others navigate the complex U.S. immigration system. She feels fortunate to have been granted legal status and is passionate about serving the immigrant community.
Ms. Loayza obtained her law degree from California Western School of Law in May 2021. While in law school, she volunteered for San Diego County’s Alternate Public Defender’s Office, Hepburn Hernandez & Jung, Casa Cornelia Law Center, and the American Bar Association Immigration Justice Project.
Ms. Loayza joined Hurwitz Holt, APLC in January 2021 for her clinical externship. She helps the HH team prepare I-601 A waivers and court filings. She also assists clients with their U-Visa, VAWA, asylum, and cancellation of removal applications.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family, traveling, and going on hikes.
