Ms. Hurwitz is retired and is no longer taking any immigration cases.
Ms. Hurwitz represented clients in their immigration matters from 1980 until 2018. She founded and served as the managing attorney at Law Offices of Leah W. Hurwitz, APLC, from 1980 until 2011. Further, she is a retired shareholder from Hurwitz Holt, APLC, which she co-founded in 2011. All of us at the firm congratulate Ms. Hurwitz on her extensive career during which she changed lives and trajectories through her dedicated and passionate work in the immigration field and we now wish her the very best in her retirement.
While in practice, Ms. Hurwitz served within the Immigration Section of the San Diego County Bar Association (SDCBA) as secretary and vice-president and served within the San Diego County Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) as secretary and treasurer. Ms. Hurwitz guest-lectured on Immigration law at the University of San Diego School of Law and served for several years as an AILA mentor for other immigration attorneys. Among her many other awards and speaking commitments, she was rated a 2013 “Top Attorney” by the San Diego Daily transcript and was a panelist on Business/Naturalization Derivative Citizenship at the 2016 AILA national conference.
